Hi, I'm Jen

I’ve spent more than a decade helping people move and feel better, working with everyone from busy parents and desk-based workers to high-level athletes competing in Rugby, Football and endurance sport.

Alongside my clinical work, I was invited to assist with tutoring at the Manchester branch of the North London School of Sports Massage, helping support and develop future therapists within the profession.

My passion has always been understanding how the body works and helping people feel more comfortable in theirs. Over the years, I’ve continued to build on my knowledge through further training in movement, mobility and rehabilitation, as well as Mat Pilates training to better support long-term strength, posture and recovery.

My approach is centred around practical, realistic treatment that helps people move more freely, reduce tension and get more out of everyday life.

What is Sports Massage & how can it help?

I use sports massage to help the body move and function better. While many people associate it with athletes and sports performance, I work with plenty of people who simply feel stiff, tight, stressed or uncomfortable from everyday life. Long hours sitting at desks, driving, commuting and constantly looking down at screens can all place a huge amount of strain on the body over time.

My treatments focus on reducing built-up tension, improving mobility and helping your body recover from the stresses of both training and day-to-day life. Some clients come to me with ongoing neck and shoulder tension, lower back pain or tight hips from sitting all day, while others want support with recovery, injury prevention or improving performance in the gym or sport.

A joined-up approach to treatment

Sometimes sports massage is exactly what the body needs on its own. Other times, it can work really well alongside treatments such as osteopathy or physiotherapy, or movement-based approaches, particularly when pain, posture or recovery issues have been building up for a while.

As part of Horsforth Health Hub, Jen works within a wider team of experienced practitioners, allowing clients to access well-rounded support when needed.

What to expect at your apppointment

My approach is friendly, practical and centred around helping you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in.

Appointments begin with a conversation about what’s been going on, how your body has been feeling and what you would like help with. I look at movement, posture and areas of tension before tailoring treatment specifically to you.

Treatment may include deeper massage techniques, movement work, stretching and targeted release work to help reduce pain, ease tightness and improve how your body functions. Despite the reputation sports massage sometimes has, treatment does not need to be unbearably painful to be effective. My aim is always to work with your body, not against it.

Alongside hands-on treatment, I may also suggest simple exercises or mobility work to help support recovery between appointments, improve posture and keep you moving well long term. My focus is always on helping you feel better in everyday life, whether that means training comfortably, sitting at a desk with less tension, or simply moving with more ease and confidence.
